lay-in
Soft off glass
A lay-in is a basketball shot where a player moves close to the basket and gently places or rolls the ball off the backboard into the hoop, as opposed to dunking.
It's one of the most fundamental shots in the game: He drove past the defender for an easy lay-in.
Also spelled layup, which is more common.
