kohlrabis
Bulbous cabbage relatives
Kohlrabis is the plural of kohlrabi, a vegetable in the cabbage family with a bulbous stem that grows above ground.
The pale green or purple globe has a mild, slightly sweet flavor similar to broccoli stems or turnips.
It can be eaten raw or cooked: I picked up some kohlrabis at the farmers market.
