killer cells
Body's defensive executioners
Killer cells are immune system cells that destroy infected, cancerous, or otherwise abnormal cells in the body.
Natural killer cells (NK cells) attack without prior exposure to a pathogen, while cytotoxic T cells (also called killer T cells) target specific threats they've been trained to recognize.
The treatment boosts the patient's killer cells to fight the tumor.
