invalided
Sent home injured
Invalided means discharged or removed from active duty due to illness or injury.
A soldier invalided out of the army can no longer serve because of wounds or disease: He was invalided home after the explosion.
The term comes from invalid in its older sense of a person made weak by illness, and appears mainly in British and military contexts.
