internet law
Online legal framework
Internet law is a general term for legal rules governing online activity—intellectual property, privacy, e-commerce, cybercrime, and jurisdiction across borders.
The phrase also refers informally to humorous "laws" about online behavior, like Godwin's Law (that any online argument will eventually invoke Hitler) or Rule 34 (that pornography exists of any conceivable subject).
