inductively
Reasoning from examples
Inductively means by way of induction—reasoning from specific observations to general conclusions.
A scientist working inductively gathers data first, then forms a theory: We arrived at the principle inductively, after examining hundreds of cases.
The term contrasts with deductively, which moves from general principles to specific conclusions.
In electronics, inductively refers to transfer via electromagnetic induction rather than direct contact.
