incandescent bulbs
Hot wire lights
Incandescent bulbs are the traditional type of electric light bulb, producing light by heating a wire filament until it glows.
They're inefficient—most energy becomes heat rather than light—and have been largely replaced by LED and fluorescent alternatives.
The old house still had incandescent bulbs in every fixture.
