idiomatically

In natural phrases

Idiomatically means in a way that conforms to natural, native expression in a language.

Someone who speaks idiomatically uses phrases and constructions that sound natural to fluent speakers, not just grammatically correct: She speaks French idiomatically, not like a textbook.

The term also applies to expressions whose meaning can't be derived from individual words: To "kick the bucket" idiomatically means to die.
