hyperinflate
Swell beyond capacity
Hyperinflate means to inflate to an extreme degree.
In economics, a currency hyperinflates when its value collapses and prices spiral out of control—often rising by hundreds or thousands of percent: The economy hyperinflated after the government printed money to cover its debts.
More loosely, anything can hyperinflate when blown wildly out of proportion: Media coverage hyperinflated the scandal.
