hunting trails
Prey pursuit paths
Hunting trails are paths through wilderness areas used by hunters to track and pursue game.
These may be established routes maintained for hunting access, or natural corridors where animals travel that hunters learn to follow.
The term also applies to marked trails in hunting grounds: We scouted the hunting trails before dawn.
In some regions, hunting trails have historical significance as routes used for generations.
