hulking out

Anger-fueled muscle surge

Hulking out is losing control and becoming explosively angry, often with an implication of physical transformation or intimidation.

The phrase comes from the comic book character the Hulk, who transforms from mild-mannered scientist into a giant green rage monster when provoked: Don't hulk out on me, I was just asking a question.

Sometimes used for any dramatic shift into an aggressive or intense state.
