house DJ
Venue's resident mixer
A house DJ is a resident disc jockey at a particular club or venue, performing regularly rather than as a touring guest.
The house DJ knows the venue's sound system, crowd preferences, and typical energy arc of the night.
They often open for headliners or hold down weeknight slots: The house DJ kept things moving until the main act arrived.
