hop along

Move while limping

Hop along means to move forward by hopping, or more loosely, to proceed despite difficulty or delay.

It often suggests awkward or impeded movement: The injured bird hopped along the sidewalk.

As a command, it's a casual way of telling someone to get going or keep up: Hop along now, we're running late.
