hard top
Rigid car roof
A hard top is a rigid roof on a vehicle, as opposed to a soft convertible top made of fabric.
The term often refers to a removable rigid roof panel on sports cars and off-road vehicles: We took the hard top off the Jeep for summer.
A hardtop can also mean a car body style with no center pillar between front and rear windows, giving a sleeker appearance.
