hagiographical

Idealizing holy figures

Hagiographical means relating to the biography of saints, or more broadly, to writing that treats its subject with uncritical reverence.

The term usually carries skepticism: The documentary was more hagiographical than historical, a hagiographical account of the founder's life.

The implied criticism is that flaws have been omitted and virtues exaggerated.
