gypping
Pulling a scam
Gypping is cheating or swindling someone, usually out of money: They gypped me on the price.
The word derives from Gypsy, reflecting old stereotypes about Roma people as thieves and con artists.
Though many speakers use it casually without awareness of this origin, others consider it an ethnic slur and avoid it.
