grievant
Files official complaint
A grievant is the person who files a grievance—a formal complaint, typically in labor or employment contexts.
The term appears almost exclusively in legal and administrative settings: The grievant alleged that management violated the collective bargaining agreement.
Outside union and workplace dispute procedures, the word is rare.
