grease guns
Mechanics' lube applicators
A grease gun is a handheld tool that forces lubricant into machinery through a narrow nozzle, used to maintain bearings, joints, and other moving parts: He grabbed the grease gun to lube the tractor's fittings.
The term also refers to certain compact submachine guns—notably the M3 used by U.S. forces in World War II—whose simple tubular design and greasy appearance earned the nickname.
