golden boys
Stars of the moment
Golden boys are young men favored for success—talented, attractive, and seemingly destined for greatness.
The term often carries a hint of resentment or irony, suggesting these favorites receive unearned advantages: The golden boys of Wall Street.
A golden boy can also be someone currently in favor with authority: He was the CEO's golden boy until the scandal broke.
