going bonkers

Going completely crazy

Going bonkers means losing one's composure or sanity, either genuinely or hyperbolically.

Someone might go bonkers from stress, frustration, or excitement: The kids went bonkers when they saw the puppy.

It can describe actual mental deterioration or, more commonly, intense emotional reaction: I'll go bonkers if I have to listen to that song again.
