Net guardian's armor
Goalie pads are the large, padded leg guards worn by hockey and lacrosse goalkeepers to protect the legs and block shots.
They extend from the thigh to below the knee and are much bulkier than other players' equipment: He dropped into the butterfly, his goalie pads sealing off the bottom of the net.
