given away
Handed over gratis
Given away means transferred to someone without payment, as a gift or donation: They're giving away free samples at the store.
It also means revealed or betrayed, often unintentionally: Her expression gave away her true feelings.
In weddings, a bride is given away when escorted to the altar by a parent or guardian.
To give away an advantage is to surrender it carelessly: We gave away too many points in the first half.
