giant isopod
Massive marine roly-poly
A giant isopod is a large crustacean found in deep ocean waters, resembling an enormous pill bug or woodlouse.
These scavengers can grow over a foot long and are known for their armored, segmented bodies and ability to survive long periods without food.
They've become minor internet celebrities for their alien appearance: The aquarium's giant isopod went viral.
