funky chicken
Flapping arm dance
The funky chicken is a novelty dance from the 1960s and 70s involving jerky head movements and flapping bent arms to imitate a chicken.
The dance enjoyed brief popularity in clubs and at weddings, now referenced mostly for comic effect or nostalgia: Uncle Jerry did the funky chicken at the reception.
