Joy-dampening authority figures
Someone who discourages others from enjoying themselves, enforcing rules or standards that dampen the mood.
The term is almost always used dismissively or mockingly: Don't be the fun police—let them stay up late.
A person might also ironically claim the role: I hate to be the fun police, but we should probably keep it down.
