freeriders

Those avoiding contribution

Freeriders are people who benefit from a collective resource or effort without contributing to it.

The term appears in economics and political science to describe those who enjoy public goods—clean air, national defense, open-source software—without paying their share: The union negotiated better wages, but freeriders refused to pay dues.

In skiing and snowboarding, freeriders are those who ride unmarked terrain outside groomed runs.
