freelook

Freelook is a video game camera mode that lets players look around independently of their character's movement.

Instead of the view being locked to the direction you're walking, freelook allows rotating the camera freely—typically with a mouse or right analog stick.

Hold the button to freelook while running.

The feature is standard in first-person shooters and third-person games, though some older or simpler games lack it.
