foreign imports
Products from abroad
Foreign imports are goods or services brought into a country from abroad.
The phrase is technically redundant—imports are by definition foreign—but it persists for emphasis, often in political or economic rhetoric: We need to reduce our dependence on foreign imports.
The redundancy serves to stress the outsider status of the goods in question.
