floor worker
Shop staff member
A floor worker is an employee who works on the main operational area of a business—the sales floor of a retail store, the production floor of a factory, or the trading floor of an exchange.
The term distinguishes hands-on staff from those in offices or management: Floor workers reported the spill to their supervisor.
In legislative contexts, a floor worker is someone who manages votes and strategy during active debate.
