floating floors
Click-lock floor system
Floating floors are flooring systems that rest on the subfloor without being nailed, glued, or otherwise fastened down.
The planks or tiles lock together, allowing the entire floor to expand and contract with temperature and humidity changes.
Most laminate and many engineered hardwood floors are installed this way: We went with a floating floor to save on installation costs.
