flex shift
Adjustable work hours
A flex shift is a work schedule that allows employees some flexibility in when they start and end their workday, as opposed to rigid fixed hours.
Workers might choose to arrive anytime within a window—say, between 7 and 10 a.m.—as long as they complete their required hours: The flex shift lets me avoid rush hour traffic.
Also called flextime or flexible scheduling.
