flatshare

Joint rental arrangement

A flatshare is a living arrangement where people who aren't family share a rented apartment, splitting costs and common spaces.

The term is primarily British, corresponding to American "roommate situation." It can also refer to the flat itself: I found a flatshare near the station.

As a verb, to flatshare is to live this way: I flatshared with strangers throughout my twenties.
