fixed-term lease
Time-limited rental agreement
A fixed-term lease is a rental agreement that runs for a specified period—typically six months or a year—after which it either ends or converts to a month-to-month arrangement.
Neither landlord nor tenant can terminate early without penalty unless the lease provides for it: We're locked in until the fixed-term lease expires in March.
