five-point harness
Child seat belts
A five-point harness is a restraint system with five attachment points: two at the shoulders, two at the hips, and one between the legs, all converging at a central buckle.
Most familiar from child car seats, it's also standard in racing vehicles and roller coasters.
The design distributes crash forces across the strongest parts of the body: The toddler squirmed as I fastened her five-point harness.
