first person narrator
Tale's speaking self
A first person narrator tells a story from their own perspective, using "I" and "we" rather than "he" or "she." The narrator is a character within the story, which limits what can be known to what that character experiences or learns: The first person narrator couldn't reveal what was happening in scenes she wasn't present for.
This point of view creates intimacy but also raises questions of reliability—the narrator may be biased, mistaken, or deliberately misleading.
