first person narrative
Narrator says "I"
A first person narrative is a story told from the perspective of a participant, using "I" or "we." The narrator speaks directly from their own experience: The first chapter opens with a first person narrative from the protagonist's childhood.
This approach creates intimacy but limits the reader to what the narrator knows and perceives.
