felony murder
Killing during crime
Felony murder is a legal doctrine holding someone liable for murder if a death occurs during the commission of a dangerous felony, even without intent to kill.
If someone dies during a robbery or arson—whether the victim, a bystander, or even an accomplice—all participants in the underlying felony can face murder charges: He was convicted of felony murder when his accomplice shot the store clerk.
