exposed rafters
Uncovered roof supports
Exposed rafters are ceiling beams left visible rather than concealed behind drywall or plaster.
The structural timbers that support the roof become a design element, creating a rustic or industrial aesthetic: The cabin had vaulted ceilings with exposed rafters.
Common in craftsman homes, lofts, and renovated warehouses.
