evidence marker
Scene item label
An evidence marker is a numbered or lettered placard placed at a crime scene to identify and document the location of physical evidence.
Typically bright yellow with bold black numbers, these markers appear in photographs to establish spatial relationships between items: The detective placed evidence markers next to each shell casing.
