ethnic dance
Heritage folk choreography
Ethnic dance refers to traditional dance forms associated with particular cultural, national, or regional groups—dances passed down through generations as part of a community's heritage.
The term appears in anthropology and dance education but has fallen out of favor for implying that some dances are "ethnic" while others (typically Western ballet or modern dance) are unmarked defaults.
Folk dance or traditional dance now often replace it: The festival featured ethnic dances from twelve countries.
