Fitting
Environmental adaptation is the process by which organisms or systems adjust to their surroundings over time.
In biology, it refers to inherited traits that improve survival and reproduction in a particular habitat: The camel's hump is an environmental adaptation to desert conditions.
The term extends to human adjustments—behavioral, technological, or cultural—made in response to climate, geography, or changing conditions: Air conditioning represents a technological environmental adaptation to heat.
