ending theme
Credits roll accompaniment
An ending theme is music that plays over the closing credits of a television show, film, or video game.
In anime and Japanese media, ending themes (often abbreviated ED) are typically full songs that change seasonally, distinct from the opening theme: The ending theme was more melancholic than the upbeat opener.
Western shows more often use instrumental reprises of the main theme.
