enchanted woods

Enchanted woods are forests imbued with magic or supernatural presence, a staple of fairy tales and fantasy literature.

The phrase evokes a place where ordinary rules don't apply—where trees might whisper, paths shift, and strange creatures dwell.

The children wandered into the enchanted woods and lost all sense of time.

The enchantment may be benevolent or sinister, but it always suggests a threshold between the mundane world and something other.
