elf king

Fae realm sovereign

A mythical ruler of elves in European folklore and fantasy literature, typically depicted as powerful, ancient, and dwelling in forests or underground realms.

The figure appears in Germanic legend and was popularized by Goethe's poem "Erlkönig," where the elf king lures a child to death.

In modern fantasy, elf kings govern immortal or long-lived elvish peoples: The elf king granted them safe passage through his lands.
