education equity
Equal learning access
Education equity is the principle that all students should have access to the resources, opportunities, and support they need to succeed academically, regardless of race, income, disability, or background.
Unlike equality, which gives everyone the same thing, equity recognizes that different students need different levels of support: The district's education equity initiative directed more funding to underperforming schools.
The concept addresses systemic barriers—from unequal school funding to biased curricula—that produce achievement gaps between demographic groups.
