Title I funding
Low-income school aid
Title I funding is federal money allocated to U.S. public schools with high percentages of students from low-income families.
The program, part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, aims to close achievement gaps by supporting academic instruction in disadvantaged schools: Our school relies heavily on Title I funding for reading specialists.
Schools receiving these funds are called Title I schools.
