drop-ball
Soccer dispute resolution
A drop-ball is a method of restarting play in soccer when the ball is put back into play by the referee dropping it between two opposing players.
It occurs after stoppages that don't warrant a free kick—such as injuries or outside interference.
The ball is in play once it touches the ground.
