drawer slides
Drawer extension rails
Drawer slides are the hardware that allows a drawer to move in and out of a cabinet or desk.
They consist of paired metal or plastic tracks—one attached to the drawer, one to the furniture frame—that glide against each other on ball bearings or rollers.
Quality slides determine how smoothly a drawer operates and how much weight it can hold: The old wooden runners stuck, so I replaced them with ball-bearing drawer slides.
