A dragon punch is a fighting game move where a character leaps upward with a rising fist, typically performed with a forward-down-forward joystick motion plus a punch button.
The term originates from Street Fighter's Shoryuken, Ryu's signature uppercut.
In gaming slang, to dragon punch (or DP) someone is to interrupt their attack with this invincible anti-air move: He tried to jump in but got dragon punched.
The term extends to any similar rising uppercut across fighting games.
