double knot
Lace-securing method
A double knot is a knot tied twice for extra security—typically a standard knot with a second knot tied over it to prevent loosening.
Parents teach children to double knot their shoelaces so they won't come undone: Double knot those laces before you go out to play.
As a verb, to double knot is to tie such a knot.
